HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

“Nothing liberates our greatness like the desire to help, the desire to serve.” -Marianne Willimason

We are so very grateful for the greatness the dwells in each one of you and the generous way you share your time and talent.  Thank you for making space, holding presence and seeing those that our society tends to overlook. TRU Hospice Volunteers, you make a real difference!

Volunteers needed for:

URGENT NEED… PLEASE SEE THE RESPITE REQUEST IN ARVADA ON 11/30 AND 12/21, 9:45AM-12:45pm.  If you are only able to commit to 11/30 please pick up assignment and we will repost for 12/21.

Tablet Delivery

We are changing the way we deliver tablets to patients and families. Beginning in December, tablet deliveries will be on scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday each week.  Time frame is flexible based on what works for the deliverer.  This eliminates the random delivery requests and makes the process more streamlined and predictable. We need more volunteers to help ensure these important devices get in the hands of our patients. If you have 2-3 hours to devote to this program once per week or even twice per month, please email volunteer@trucare.org.

Lights of Life

Our memorial partnership with Columbine Unity returns in-person on Saturday, January 22, 2022! This is an annual event TRU provides to help those who have experienced a loss come together in community. It is a beautiful ceremony that includes readings, music, and refreshments. Volunteers are an important part of the planning process and day-of activities. Volunteers help with logistics, organization, and readings. Please reach out to volunteer@trucare.org if you want to be part of this wonderful event.

Description of A Beginner’s Guide to the End:

The first-ever practical, compassionate, and comprehensive guide to dying – and living fully until you do.

“There is nothing wrong with you for dying.” Palliative care Doctor BJ Miller and Shoshana Berger write in A Beginner’s Guide to the End. “Our ultimate purpose here isn’t so much to help you die as it is to free up as much life as possible until you do.”
