Happy Volunteer
Appreciation Week!
A
Proclamation on National Volunteer Week, 2021
APRIL 16, 2021 • PRESIDENTIAL ACTIONS https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/04/16/a-proclamation-on-national-volunteer-week-2021/
We are living in a moment that calls for hope and light and
love. Hope for our futures, light to see our way forward, and love for
one another. Volunteers provide all three. Service — the act of
looking out for one another — is part of who we are as a Nation. Our
commitment to service reflects our understanding that we can best meet our
challenges when we join together. This week, we recognize the enduring
contributions of our Nation’s volunteers and encourage more Americans to join
their ranks…
Help Needed!!
We need help down
in the Trailridge basement. We are trying to do two things. First, clean out
any expired supplies for a Project Cure pick-up scheduled for 5/4/21. Second,
we need to compile a batch of supplies to stock our Would you be willing to
spend a few hours in the basement next week to help us with this project? If
so, give us a call and we will set you up with Suzanne Harp, our Clinical Educator and Infection Control Nurse
will
work to provide a specific list of what all is needed for the supply gathering
and purging.

year old Dr Michael Miller suffers from late-term terminal cancer. This
film explores the personal, social and ethical implications of Miller's

and less lengthy dying process. Dying Wish is a 12 day journey with Michael,

is 80, mischievous, living defiantly alone and rejecting the carers that his
daughter, Anne, encouragingly introduces. Yet help is also becoming a necessity
for Anne; she can't make daily visits anymore and Anthony's grip on reality is
unravelling. As we experience the ebb and flow of his memory, how much of his
own identity and past can Anthony cling to? How does Anne cope as she grieves
the loss of her father, while he still lives and breathes before her? THE
FATHER warmly embraces real life, through loving reflection upon the vibrant
human condition; heart-breaking and uncompromisingly poignant - a movie that
nestles in the truth of our own lives.
