9/18 Bumbuli Hospice: Judi Huseby, TRU Staff and Volunteer. Seeking to embrace and support a mission beyond our local community, in 2006 TRU Community Care and Hospice formed a partnership with Bumbuli Hospice in Tanzania. This special relationship remains strong, with TRU employees making generous contributions and traveling to Tanzania to work alongside Bumbuli’s team to learn more about the challenges they face.

Practically Dying, LLC. Practically-Dying.com Ritual is an
approach to life, to events, to moments. Whether it passes in three
minutes or is days long, it is ceremony of passage. Some rituals are
formalized; others are spontaneous. Some are done privately, and some are
held in and for community, but all speak to our human desire to mark something
as sacred, however that is defined by each of us.
In this time together, we’ll talk about how to create ritual for self and other and why it is woven into the fibers of our mortal being.

10/9 Threshold Singers: We are a group of singers who offer our voices in service at the bedsides of people who are dying or are seriously ill. In a small group of 3 or 4, we sing soft, gentle, heartfelt songs to offer presence, comfort, and kindness. Our group is one of almost 200 Threshold Choir chapters worldwide. during this new class. Special guest speakers include: Anthony Fauci, David
Baltimore, Britt Glaunsinger, Bruce Walker, Eric Lander, Michel Nussenzweig,
Akiko Iwasaki, Arlene Sharpe, Kizzmekia Corbett, and others. Recorded videos through December 8, 2020.

Due to deeply felt religious beliefs and a long history of discrimination in the U.S., African-American patients are often reluctant to plan for the end of their lives, and more skeptical when doctors suggest stopping treatment.
