On August 20th, trained
conversation coaches will be available by appointment via Zoom throughout the
day. They can answer advance care planning questions, provide the right documents,
and help you start this important conversation with those that matter most. We
can help ensure your wishes are respected. (This is an open opportunity, so
feel free to forward the information and registration link.)
8/21 Memories in the Making – Johanna (Jojo) Beeman, LPC, Art Therapist. The Alzheimer's Association Memories in the Making® program offers creative art expression for individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early to the middle stages of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Memories in the Making participants create imaginative and colorful watercolor paintings. Have on hand: paper, watercolors or art materials of your choice and an inspiration object or picture.
8/28 Rock Painting with Nicole Meadows: Suggested supplies for rock painting: A workspace you can create in, and maybe get a little messy; 4 or 5 washed rocks. Allow them to dry before painting them (Preferably a few hours before hand); A bowl, mug or cup of water. I suggest something sturdy; Paint brushes, various sizes; Acrylic paint is what I use. Other paints might work too…Paint pens (optional); A palate, if you have one to hold paint and mix paint. Or I have used a margarine container lid. Cardboard might work too. Modge Podge sealant (spray or glue). Applied well after the paint is dried; Paper towel for blotting or drying brushes, and/or cleaning up spills; 1 or 2 sets of newspaper or cardboard to place under rocks while painting. You are welcome to paint along as I instruct or just watch. This will give you the basics of HOW TO PAINT ROCKS. There are lots of great creative design ideas online. Pinterest is one of my “go to” resources. If you wish to just watch as we go, you could take screen shots to help you remember the steps.
9/4 TRU Thrift Store Update - Lynn McCullough, Manager. All of TRU services are created to support families and individuals who are coping with illness and loss in our community.
