We have a FUN project for you.
Kiddos welcome as well!
Assignment: CReATe TRU patient greeting cards.
Our census is over 204 at time
of publication. This one-time effort or on-going project (your preference!) simply
requires you to decorate cards and write generic sweet notes inside, such as “Thinking
of you. Hope this brightens your day...”
Be creative! Enlist your kids
to help. Cards can be decorated with colored pens, crayons, paint, stickers,
stamps, or collage. Consider making the project an art class for yourself and
family!
Please contact Wendy. if you are
interested. (Email me ASAP to ensure sufficient supply.) Special card stock will
be provided by TRU, which can be picked up at the Trailridge office or
delivered, as possible. Completed cards should be returned to Trailridge for
delivery by staff or mail to patients.
Volunteer Connection Zoom Meeting Schedule
5/8: Alive Inside Preview and Interactive Event - Kera Magarill, MA -
Older Adult Behavioral Health Specialist with Washington County Disability,
Aging and Veteran Services. Kera specializes in musical engagement for people
with dementia. This is your brain on
music. Experience how musical connections can provide a moment of
joy, fun and calm even from a distance. Get ideas for musical connections
through zoom, by phone and even through the mail.
5/13: Special Evening Event (5:30-7:00pm) Grief
Processing - Richard Mercer, TRU
Grief Counselor. This volunteer-specific meeting is designed to allow for a personal
check-in in a group environment via Zoom. Volunteers are invited to take this
opportunity to reveal unrecognized grief in this time of loss and anxiety.

5/22: JEAN a film – Jean Dempsey, a Boulder native and fellow TRU
volunteer, was one of America’s top female climbers during the ‘70s. Tune
in to learn more about her craft and the rock fall accident in Yosemite that
changed her life forever 38 years ago.
5/29: Arts & Crafts: Swedish Weaving
Demonstration – Barb Beck, TRU volunteer will be sharing the art of
Swedish Weaving. (Learn something new and perhaps take up a new hobby!!)
