§  UPDATES:
Ø  Life Review assignments have been renamed Personal Reflections and will be listed on the volunteer request board as such. Considered more inclusive and inviting, Personal Reflections implies an opportunity for patients to share what they want (joys, stories, accomplishments, advice, and wishes among other things) vs an assumed reveal of a life which may or may not have been a positive experience. Thank you to Karen Hopley and Mike Reagan for their help in this rebranding effort.

§  RECRUITMENT HELP NEEDED: To meet patient demand, we need to increase our volunteer pool near Thornton, Brighton, Westminster and Arvada. Veteran volunteers are of great need as well. Please let Wendy know of any friends, organizations or contacts you think may be helpful in these efforts.

§  DOCUMENTATION: Reminders about Requirements

Hospice Assignments:
Ø  Please document to ONE care plan, even if you happen to slip in some light housekeeping or comfort touch. If you believe an additional assignment is necessary, please let us know.

Ø  Documents are processed/shared with Teams on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. Please report Red Flag issues immediately with Ginger or Wendy. You are also welcome to leave a message with the social worker or RN. Their numbers are provided in assignment details. The document audit is completed on Wednesdays. Thank you all for your patience with this process (and Wendy’s emails!)

Ø  Review your document submissions on My Stats (located in the blue stripe on Volunteer Assignments page)

Ø  Please add all phone calls to the one weekly doc. No need to document phone calls separately.’ Phone calls are worth 15 minutes each.

Ø  Documents should be submitted only within the initiation and completion date of the assignment – family calls and service attendance are the exceptions.
